Maximize your FVC roof rack's capabilities with our Heavy Duty High Bar Kits. The Heavy Duty High Bar Kits raise the crossbar height and are engineered for heavier items like rooftop tents, roof storage boxes, and more.
The Heavy Duty High Bar Kits allow you to keep gear like solar panels in place and add usable crossbars for mounting over top. Whether you’ve been limited by the rack’s footprint for kayaks or rooftop tents or want the option to throw on more gear without removing what’s in place, this Heavy Duty High Bar Kit gets around almost any obstacle.
Installation of the Heavy Duty risers varies by rack type. For Standard and Low Pro Roof Racks, the risers attach to existing crossbars and add 3.6” or 7” of height. For Safari Racks, decking mount adapters come included and provide a high bar height of 8.1”.
The Heavy Duty High Bar Kits are built with a sturdy ¼” thick aluminum construction. It is suggest limiting the dynamic weight to 250 pounds or less while driving and the static weight while parked or camping at 500 pounds. While the risers can handle significant weight, it is not recommend exceeding the manufacturer's overall weight specifications at any time. For uses under 100 pounds on raised high bars, check out FVC High Bar Kits for Low Pro and Standard Roof Racks.
Crossbar Options
Overhang options leave 5.6” - 6.5” of overhanging crossbar on each side. Non-overhang options are the suggested size to match the width of each rack.
